PROJECT TIMELINE
Abstract:
Despite extensive research into alternate methods the internal combustion engine is expected to remain as the primary source of vehicular propulsion for the foreseeable future. Piston is the one of the most important engine components which converts heat and pressure energy liberated by fuel combustion into mechanical work. Engine piston is the most complex component among the automotive.
The aim of this project work is to study and comparison of engine performance and emissions characteristics of 4-stroke single cylinder water cooled diesel engine with modified piston.
Solution:
it seems that the modification has increased mechanical, brake thermal and indicated thermal efficiency of modified piston has further increased the volumetric efficiency. And further SFC of the modified piston has reduced much lower which will help in reducing down the cost of fuel. and for the some of the blends is very good as in the case of c40,c30.while taking in to consideration of cost we found the C20 blend is better in all respect.
