Controlability study of a kickstage

The kickstage is a ring with up to 6 satellites around it. It is positioned in addition to a large satellite during a launch and allows to deposit its satellites in different orbits.

The main goal of our project was to study different solutions to balance the kickstage during the dropping of one of its satellite. When a satellite is dropped, its center of mass moves. It is absolutely necessary to align it with the center of thrust so that the kickstage is controllable. We have identified two potential solutions: The first one, placing the motor on a rotating shaft so as to position it on the center of mass. The second one is to modulate the thrust of four engines so that the center of thrust is also in the center of mass.
