ESTIMATION OF LIFE OF TURBINE BLADE CONSIDERING THE EFFECT OF CREEP

Objective: To estimate the fatigue failure life of turbine blade considering creep effect. Turbine blade was rotated for a time period of 5000 sec as one cycle. Blade works under the high temperature and high centrifugal stress environment condition. Temperature distribution profile and thermo-mechanical fatigue stress distribution in turbine blade was obtained using ABAQUS 6.11, a FEA software. Fatigue life of turbine blade was estimated using FE-Safe 6.0, a fatigue durability software. For fatigue life estimation, Morrow's strain-life equation was considered.
