PROJECT TIMELINE
Intramedullary Rods for Broken Bones
ØIntramedullary (IM) rods are used to align and stabilize fractures. IM rods are inserted into the bone marrow canal in the center of the long bones of the extremities.
ØWhen you experience a bone break (also known as a fracture), it’s important that the bone can heal properly in its original position.
ØBone fracture repair is a surgery to fix a broken bone using metal screws, pins, rods, or plates to hold the bone in place. It’s also known as open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) surgery.
Challenges for design Intramedullary Rods
ØAs we know that bone facture is different types like Stable fracture, compound fracture,Transversefracture, Oblique fracture and Comminuted fracture etc.
ØFor that we have to use different types of metal screws, pins, rods, or plates to hold the bone in place for each Indivisuals.
ØThe Designing Procedure of the Fixators are too time taking and the cost is also high.
ØBehaviour of factures also vary the design of the Frame.
ØScientific and technical developments together with medical care and practice , bring new demands for designing of Intermodullar rods.
ØFor that only we can in the following steps for designing Fixators .
ü Application of new smart Materials.
üNew Design
üMeasuring of Real loadings
üExperiments
üNumerical modelling
ØInstead of manually design of all the parts if we will use in this platform it will save our time and increase the rate of productivity with no error . And at last we will get a complete design of IM Rods.
