PROJECT TIMELINE
This CAD was a product of the recent Design Build Fly competition, where the primary challenge was to create a plane that can fold and fit into a tube and then easily fold back into flight position before being hand-launched into flight. With ideas of my own and many more from my team, I was able to generate this representation of our plane. It has a switchblade-style folding main wing mechanism, a sliding horizontal stabilizer, and a foldable propeller. All of these folding mechanisms were specifically designed to use the most of the space inside of the tube that we had. This software not only allowed my team and I to visually see the plane, but it also allowed for more precise planning when it came time to building the physical prototype.
