Japanese fan used for traditional dances of Japan

This is my project for the 3DS academy contest. I modeled it using Catia V6 I reproduced the Japanese fan used for traditional dances of Japan. I made a closed version and an open version as well Wanted to root for my country in my very own way and thatfs why I tried modeling this. These fans are usually hand crafted by older craftsman and doesnft usually have drafts. I modeled it looking at an actual fan and dissected it on my own. I chose the colors to correspond with the Japanese flag (red / gold) and used purple to put in a Edo-Muarsaki accent to it.
