PROJECT TIMELINE
The project is conducted to mainly validate the characterization of Intervertebral Disc IVD
prosthesis mechanical response under compression. Also, a distinctive finite element model is
created to achieve this goal. An FE model of the IVD prosthesis is created using ABAQUS. IVD prosthesis is mainly simulated as two components. The (PHEMA/PMMA) semi-interpenetrating polymer network composite hydrogel (the matrix) is simulated like a “continuum cylinder”. The matrix is reinforced with (PET) fibers; the fibers are simulated like “wire”
