Multiscale modeling for Self-Piercing Riveting process

A digital replica of the SPR process for T4 6060 Al plates. The model is generated in ABAQUS using multiscale modeling technique developed. The digital replica predicts SPR process, including workpiece and rivet deformation, and associated microstructure evolution during the process.  The technique presented herein can be popularized for other material systems, building a nearly material law free predictive engineering system for advanced material design and structural analysis.
