PROJECT TIMELINE
My name is Tales Lima Fonseca. I am from Federal University of Juiz de Fora, in Brazil. I am a B.Sc in computer science and I am finishing my degree in computational engineering. Also, I am M.Sc student in computer modeling. I work with optimization problems in engineering using Genetic Algorithms In the work presented here, the optimization problem of the Heat Exchange consists of finding the best positions of 4 tubes to increase heat exchange as well as to limit the pressure loss. Air enters the domain with a low temperature and the tubes have a higher constant outer wall temperature. I used the Abaqus software as a simulation tool for the optimization process using the Python package together with an external Genetic Algorithm. This is a novel approach to solve optimization problems in engineering, because Abaqus is a essential tool.
