PROJECT TIMELINE
In this project, a progressive die is design to manufacture the MB5 L bracket. There are total of 16 components in the progressive die. Each of the component in the progressive die is constructed using CATIA V6 and V5. Students deal with design of progressive tool having six workstations for modelling the parts. Tool involves piercing, punching with different diameters, bending and cut off operations. Software CATIA V6 and V5 also being used to sketch the parts and also assembly all the parts of progressive die.
Main objectives of this project are to understand the structure of the components in the progressive die. Next, to design a progressive die for manufacturing MB5 L bracket using CATIA V6 and V5 software.
Last but no least, able to estimate the efficient of the progressive die by calculation of cost and number of part can be produce per hour.
